In Episode 7 of the Discovery series, I set off on the long road from North Vietnam all the way down to Saigon. A route that stitched together countless stories, faces, and moments I won’t forget.
From the cool mountain air of the north to the humid buzz of the south, every stop had something different to offer. In Hoi An, we slowed things down, taking a cooking class to learn recipes older than memory. In Mui Ne, the pace shifted, we quad biked through the sand dunes which felt like another planet entirely.
As we got closer to Ho Chi Minh City, history came alive underground in the Viet Cong Cu Chi tunnels, a reminder of the past that shapes Vietnam’s present. Along the way, it was the everyday details; the street food, the sunrise bus rides, the small exchanges with strangers; that gave this stretch of the journey its depth.
