EDITORIAL SESSIONS

EDITORIAL SESSIONS

Sonder shoots started with headshots. Clean, professional, portfolio-ready, exactly what emerging actors need. But somewhere along the way we started asking a different question: what happens when we just get creative?

That's where the editorial sessions came from.

Each one starts with a theme and a vision, then we build everything around it. We pick the right model for the concept, bring in our MUA Phoebe to create a look built specifically for the shoot, style the outfits, dress the set, and experiment. Different lighting setups, different cameras, props, textures, colour. Whatever it takes to bring the idea to life properly.

It started as a way to give Phoebe a chance to capture content of her work and give our photographers creative space beyond their usual briefs. What it's become is one of the most exciting parts of what we do at Sonder. A chance to make images that are genuinely interesting and to show our members what's possible when you stop playing it safe.

The most ambitious one yet. Big makeup, clashing colours, a set full of props and texture, and coloured gels that turned the studio into something closer to a late-night venue than a photography space.

Phoebe had full creative freedom on the looks and ran with it, the makeup is theatrical, expressive, and completely deliberate. The lighting pushed it somewhere unexpected. Loud and precise in equal measure.
